Her commitment is complete, after training in Beaune, internships including Emmanuel Giboulot's domain and a few years in the vineyards in various wineries,
She wants to make her own wines under the evocative name of "Vins de Croquants" and to illustrate the Mâconnais' terroir that is so close to her heart with vinifications as natural as possible and little interventionist.
For this, Louise needs funding so read her story.

I. The project :

Once upon a time in Fuissé and Milly-Lamartine, in the south of Burgundy ...
 
I am Louise and I make wine !
 
Finally, that's it I'm launching! And I can tell you it was time! A few years before my parents' retirement, it was time to show up because the vines began to sell.And then there are no more wine fairs, no more bottles, no more Pouilly-Fuissé. 

Yet here, we are winemakers for several generations so as to tell you that wine is a family story …

I have just started my business as Winemaker-Negotiator :
"VINS DE CROQUANTS" Louise Panay.

(That means "Wines of the rebels peasants" but it sounds like "crunchy wines" in french)

I buy grapes or grape must (juice) from the vines of my family, to produce my own wine.
The goal for me is, at first, to create wines to know if I embark on the continuation of the adventure: Take over the family estate with one of my brothers, wine worker for several years.

Yet it was not a girl's dream this idea of recovery!
Before getting there, I had to wear the uniform of receptionist for 10 years + a change of scenery in Australia for 1 year + a good questioning!
So suddenly, I summarize the whole thing:
- Back on school benches in Beaune
- Internship at Emmanuel Giboulot (biodynamic winegrower)
- Tasting classes in class (obviously we spit it out!)
- And for the wink to my grandfather: little equine traction course (I also met anosteopath and a physiotherapist!)
 
Then, another 2 years ...
Two years to practice vine, to listen (or not) the advice of the elders, to taste wines of all colors, to work in other areas, to ask questions, to try different models of secateurs …

 

Why wine?
Because wine is conviviality. It's an opening to the other, an invitation to travel, a notion of sharing around a drink.

Wine brings together enthusiasts and it is a subject rich enough to make interesting meetings. He is always at the origin of sincere moments, that's why I chose him. I love it… :)

A few weeks ago, I made my first harvest on my behalf.
I'm vinifing two appellations that my father produced and which are particularly close to my heart:
Pouilly-Fuissé and Mâcon-Fuissé.
And the best thing about all this is that all of my work, I did it with my loved ones.Parents, brothers and sister, boyfriend and friends supported me as never in this adventure.

 

The resumption of the parents' wine exploitation would allow me to continue to tell the story of wine, through the Human. This wonderful story that begins with the harvest and his state of mind: A good dose of controlled alcoholism,affectionate insults and bawdy songs on a background of burgundy beef ...

 

My values :
I chose a winemaking method with little intervention, with the least possible additive and above all, little sulfur!
I want my wine to be an expression of what it really is, not what we want it to be.

But I want it to also translate a hardness:
The hard work we do in the vineyards, as opposed to the ease we would add chemicals to fill a gap in the wine.
When my yeasts are partying, I let dance as big and I only intervene if they need me.

         I want to get inspired by winemakers who fascinate me.

Those I met during my wine discovery journey.
I'm talking about men and women who do what they can and not necessarily what they want, while remaining as much as possible in accordance with a benevolence granted to the vine (and therefore to the environment), and to wine(to the health of the consumer) ...
Not to mention my friends from Morvan who made me discover natural wines: These mouthful sips but sincere, going against our conditioned palates. I saw with them how to harvest otherwise but especially to vinify more healthily.
I hope to succeed to express these influences in my wines in connection with the know-how that my family puts at my disposal.

 

 
And next year ...?
For my second year, I plan to at least double my volumes compared to this year so to buy again new barrels. And why not produce my own wines from Bourgogne Pinot Noir? I'll let's see !

What is certain is that I belong to a generation that wants to change!
A generation that wants to return to traditions but up to date,
with a search for environmental respect.
Is it possible?
Of course it is !
We'll get there you'll see ...

 

 

II. What will the collection be used for?

 For all that is material, I am equipped by my own means to complete the part that I already use within the exploitation of my parents.

 
However, I need you to finance my grapes!

 

 

More precisely, my grape must (the juice).
Even if my wine is currently fizzing in the barrels, I do not have the funds to settle my raw material (in 2019) so I try everything for the whole!
Your contribution will allow me to finance the POUILLY-FUISSE:
- Grape must in the appellation "Pouilly-Fuissé": 5000 €
- Creation of the label "Pouilly-Fuissé": 800 €
A first objective of 5800 €
(If I get 60% of that amount, it's won!)
